Terms & Conditions
Armed Forces & Emergency Services Wedding Package
Dates you can select & changing the date at short notice

The Armed Forces & Emergency Services Wedding Package requires minimum of 50 guests at your wedding for Sun to Thurs, 60 on Fridays, and 70 minimum on Saturdays.

You guarantee 25 guests staying overnight in the castle's en-suites at £75 PPPN (per person per night) B&B on weekdays, and 50 staying overnight at weekends (Fri & Sat). Guests pay for their own accommodation at £150 per double en-suite.

Optional 2nd night discounted by 30% to £52.50/guest based on two sharing an en-suite if in same room both nights.

Add extra guests according to the relevant year's tariff on the Tariff Table here.

Exclusive Use of all ground floor rooms

You have free exclusive use of the Conservatory for your Wedding Breakfast, the Theatre Ceremony Room for your wedding Ceremony, the Nicolini and Breakfast room lounges, and a larger evening function room for your evening party.

If your numbers are below the starting level for this Package, you may still secure this package by paying a top-up so you meet the minimum level for Guest numbers and B&B occupancy.

Armed Forces Weddings are non-transferable and all payments will be forfeited in the event of cancellation.

For Further Terms and Conditions on Postponement specific to the Armed Forces Wedding Package, see the bottom of this page, below the Chart, as well as the chart itself. These mainly relate to the 'wedding date moving' terms.

When rebooking your wedding, never postpone your wedding beyond the date range in Column Two.
But if you absolutely have to do this, you'd be postponing your wedding beyond the Armed Forces & Emergency Services Wedding Package Date range. Further Terms & Conditions re postponement

1. We will allow dates to be moved as above for any “essential military condition", such as “overseas posting", deployment to a “terror/war zone” or “army exercise” or foreign overseas emergency or UK terrorist act.

2. We will not allow postponement for optional "promotion courses" – as these in most cases can be rescheduled.

3. It is the essential, “I have to go because I am fighting for my country" or, "I have no choice" absences that we are allowing date changes on.

4. This Package applies to one or more
serving military personnel within the UK regular Army, Navy or Airforce getting married, either to each other or someone.

5. This Wedding Package may be offered to other specific Occupations where the requirements of your job may involve you being obliged to 'go somewhere else' on your wedding day, but typically the Occupations this Package is for include the Police, Army, Navy, RAF, MOD (any MOD aspect, not just the Military – so includes MOD Police), and NHS Staff such as Nurse/ Doctor/ Surgeon / Registrar / Consultant / paramedic or ambulance personnel.

6. We need to see a proper service ID card for one of you, for you to book this Package. Specifically we need to see receipt of a MOD90 (ID card), or Services Personnel ID card, or valid UK recognised Emergency Services ID card, to qualify you for this Package.

7. We will not accept the defence discount service card in isolation as they are valid for 5 years (so you could have a DDS card and no longer be serving). Sight of an in-date MOD90 will confirm your current service eligibility.

8. We will need to see any "documentation for postponement" and may wish to see clarification that the reasons to move the date are in line with 'being obliged to go' above, rather than 'choosing to go'. In order to amend your date you will be required to provide us official confirmation, that you are unable to get married on the original date booked, including the reason why.

9. Postponement will also be allowed on the above terms in cases of postings on joint forces exercises in Canada/America/Kenya and so forth.

10. Postponement is not limited to “deployment” but will apply to any MOD or UK Government orders where you do not have a 'choice' and have to 'go'. So if you’re having to go to somewhere different in the UK for say an
exercise or an exercise with another regiment, postponement would be permissible. But where you are able to choose yourself, whether or not to go, then postponement is not permitted.

11. You must email and phone us IMMEDIATELY you are aware of a need to 'go somewhere' on your wedding day, as
any delay in informing us will potentially make you liable for any increased charges for moving the date (see table above).

B&B & Planning

1. B&B en-suites  @£75/ guest based on two sharing an en-suite. Minimum of 2 guests @ £75 each per double en-suite room. Above 50 overnight guests, once all doubles are filled at £150 / room, B&B is £50/ guest, for extras in family rooms. Or £35/ guest (£70/ room) in budget Nurses Block.

2. See 'how to fit 50 guests in the castle' to fit in all your guests and see all related links on accommodation options and capacity.

3. See Planning your wedding at the Castle and follow this link to the forms and templates pages.

Staying Night Before

1. The night before your wedding, if available, may be booked by your guests at a 30% discount (if staying in the same room two consecutive nights) subject to availability and the '6 month rule'.

2. The 6 month rule is applied to Saturday weddings in respect of Fridays. This means we wait till 6 months before your wedding, if your wedding is on a Saturday, before releasing bedrooms for your guests to book the night before.

3. For a Friday wedding we allow guests to book up to 10 rooms the night before, but keep a few rooms (15) clear for any possible midweek wedding booking, until 6 months prior to your wedding.

4. All rooms can be booked by your guests to stay the night before, if available, 6 months or less, before your wedding.

Dining night before a wedding

We need a minimum of 16 people pre-booked to open the dining room for dinners to be served the night before a wedding. Provided there is no exclusive use wedding or other exclusive event on the night before your wedding, we can serve evening meals to your guests. If you would like to have guests dine with us at the castle before your wedding, please let us know in advance.

We do not allow any food to be consumed on the castle ground floor / public dining areas, unless purchased at the Castle. Food not bought at the castle may only be consumed in the privacy of your own accommodation or in any self-catering accommodation – such as TGRA, TFFF, or Nurses Block - but only in the latter if it is booked out by a Wedding Party in its entirety, as in 'all rooms in the Nurses Building are rented out by your party'.
