1. Venue Hire on Twilight Weddings for function room and bar in 2026 - £1,390.00. This is waived if 20 guests stay overnight on a B&B  basis, i.e. if 10 double en suite rooms are occupied by guests at £75 per person. Guests pay £150/night B&B for 2 in an en-suite. 30% off (£105/night) for 2 on 2nd night. NB: guests pay for their own accommodation. Encouraging guests to stay makes your event last longer. Guests party late when they're in no rush to drive home.

2. Hot Fork Buffet Two: As your main meal, Evening Hot Fork Buffet Two is £46.75 per head (2026). You need a minimum of 100 guests for the Twilight Wedding on a Friday or Saturday. You need a minimum number of 80 on a Sunday through to Thursday. Lower numbers are fine, provided you pay for the relevant minimum number of guests. 3. Exclusive Use Function Room only: With the Twilight Wedding your booking is not 'Exclusive' as we may host another event in the Conservatory, plus there'll be other B&B guests using the lounges and Conservatory. You get exclusive use of the main bar and function room only.

4. Ceremony at the Castle: As Twilight is an evening only package; it is assumed you are marrying elsewhere. When taking the Twilight Wedding your booking is not 'Exclusive' as we may host another event during the day. Venue hire at Regular tariff applies to any other rooms hired. While you shouldn't need extra rooms, if you wish to marry at the Castle, you will need to hire a Ceremony room.


5. Tea & Buffet Option: As the registrar will not marry you much later than 3.30 pm, marrying at the castle then having the Twilight wedding, will leave you with a big gap to fill before your evening buffet.

Twilight does not include the day event, such as the wedding breakfast, the welcome drinks, or use for the day of all the ground floor rooms. You just have the function room and main bar for an evening hot fork buffet. So if you do intend to marry at the Castle, but do not want a full traditional wedding day, a half-way option is our Tea & Buffet Wedding - read more. This includes the Ceremony room, and a Tea & Sandwiches option for the afternoon, with Speeches and cake etc in the Conservatory. The afternoon tea is followed by a light finger buffet in the evening function room. As the minimum number of guests for a Tea & Buffet Wedding is just 40, this is a good alternative to the Twilight Wedding, if you are marrying at the castle.

6. Hiring your own DJ/ Entertainment independently: While our recommended DJ is Darren Tipples, you can hire any DJ of your own choosing. Any entertainment and/or band or external supplier you hire must meet legal and insurance regulations. Any 3rd party supplier must ensure they have their equipment regularly checked, insured and authorised in advance, so they can safeguard / cover any liability to their own guests and/or ourselves.

The Supplier must:

a. Have their equipment checked. Whilst PAT testing is not a legal requirement within the hotel, it is the best proof to ensure that the equipment is safe.

b. Have Public Liability Insurance to protect themselves for claims from their own guests and to cover our premises for damage or loss for instance (but not limited to) fire or flood.

c. You confirm with us in advance who your supplier is and confirm the supplier has been asked to provide the above to us. This means that friends and/or relatives 'who can DJ or are in bands', are NOT permitted to perform/ offer a service at the castle if they do not have (a) and (b) above.

7. Book the DJ! You Must Book the DJ Direct. In the Twilight Wedding there is a discount off the DJ's standard rates. DJ fees will vary according to year and what you wish to include. Once you have booked your Twilight Wedding you will contract directly with the DJ, book him for your date, and pay him separately. You should use our recommended DJ as indicated above to get everything mentioned in this package. While you may book your own DJ direct, other DJ's won't necessarily include all that Darren Tipples does. All suppliers booked must be bona fide suppliers with a website/facebook page – business card and carry appropriate insurance - read more above.

Booking and Paying for the DJ

(1) You will enter into a direct contract with your selected DJ, not the Castle, for the Evening Disco he provides.

(2) The fee for the DJ is paid directly by you to the DJ in two instalments.

(3) To book the DJ you will need to pay him a deposit.

(4) The final balance is due to the DJ 30 days prior to your Wedding.

(5) You pay the Castle for the Buffet at the appropriate rate for the chosen Buffet.

(6) You need 100 guests for  a 'stand-alone' evening only castle buffet.
8. Evening Videography Service: The DJ offers an evening Videography service. Includes video of first Dance, fabulous imagery of bridal Couple dancing on clouds and a selection of dances by your guests, even the Last Dance. This service saves you hiring a photographer or videographer for the evening. Circa 45 minutes of video of the first and subsequent dances is offered but, unlike a professional videographer, the DJ's service does not include any editing or cutting of the raw video footage. The First Dance is a highlight of the evening and the videography service offered to properly record the first dance is a nice extra. A video of the first Dance is preferable to a series of 'still shots'.

10. "DJ Included" packages. This section is for UWP and WED-VIP Clients ONLY.

Our Ultimate Wedding Package (UWP) and our VIP (2 Day) Wedding Package, allow for the use of a DJ. A contribution element* (within your package price) is deducted when booking our “recommended DJ, Darren Tipples of DJ Sound & Lighting”. We will refer you to the DJ directly and if available he will contract with you directly, under his own Terms and Conditions.In the case of UWP - Ultimate Wedding Package, and WED-VIP - Weekend Exclusive Deal, two day VIP wedding, the 'contribution element' made by the Castle is £600 off the DJ's standard rates. When the DJ advises us that you have paid him, we will contra-credit the £600 DJ costs contribution to your booking. This reduces your balance due for UWP and WED-VIP. If his charges are higher than the £600 we contribute, you make up the difference. Though these two packages include some DJ costs, you Must Book the DJ Direct.
