This is Self Serve from Buffet Table
(We Clear Tables between courses)
We put each course out on the Buffet Table, Guests help themselves to each course.
Plates cleared by Waitress staff during meal as required. No waitress service of each course. You save money on waitressing by guests helping themselves to each course from the Buffet Table. This allows us to reduce the cost to this lowest possible rate.
If full waitress service required, then speak to our team about the charge for this, or upgrade to our Last Minute Wedding Package full Wedding Banquet option.
Terms & Conditions
- Min. 50 guests for the day, you can increase to 75 for evening at no charge
- Add extra day guests for £50.00 / guest up to a maximum of 130 in Function Room.
- Option to add Sandwich Platter for evening guests, for £20/ guest
- Requires a minimum of 20 guests staying overnight (10 double rooms)
- Upgrade to the Conservatory exclusively, in preference to Function room (with non exclusive use of Main Patti Bar) for £500
- Includes free use of Theatre for your wedding Ceremony (no charge for Ceremony room)

Our Buffet Wedding is a low cost wedding offer so you can really marry on a low budget. It will feel the same as a full day wedding in a Castle, but at a fraction of the cost.
However, this option is only available in the Last Minute date range (at time of writing, up to 28/02/2026), and only on selected Dates where we already have another smaller event or a Dinner Booking. So you are not fully exclusive as we will have Dinner service in the evening in either the Conservatory or the Function room (which room we use for this depends on which room you are using for the evening).
This means Buffet Weddings are not exclusive use for the whole castle as with our main wedding packages.
A Buffet Wedding is best served in the Function Room so we can serve you from the bar during your event. However you can upgrade to the Conservatory for the day.
All Change - like with a train, depart on time!
You get one room exclusive. If using both rooms, you will get specific time slots in each room. You will need to vacate your 'day room' at a pre-set agreed time (so you should not over-run on your Order of the Day Timings/ Speeches etc).
You will have an agreed time slot in 'the evening room' if using two rooms (as you can use one for for day and one for evening if you upgrade).
So, either you hire the Function Room at no cost for both day and evening.
Or you can upgrade to the Conservatory for the Day, paying an additional £500 Venue Hire for the daytime use of Conservatory, before moving to the function room for the evening.
Either way, the Patti bar itself remains non-exclusive. Bar service to the function room side is of course exclusive to your party, when you are in the function room in the evening. To avoid mingling with non-wedding guests, you do need to be in the Function room in the evening as it has its own private corner bar.
Evening events are best held in the Function Room, which also has the speakers set up for the DJ. This is irrespective of whether you hold the day event in the Conservatory and applies especially if you have a larger wedding party in the evening. Any noise and DJ music etc is then kept well away from the residential areas, which, as your wedding is non-exclusive, will be occupied by other non-wedding guests.
Evening Catering Option
If you invite extra evening guests, you should allow for evening nibbles / sandwiches etc - i.e. choose something from the buffet selection above for the evening guests.
There is no cost to bringing in evening extras, under this Offer, other than the cost of any catering you provide for them.
Be aware that 'evening invites' have a high non attendance rate, but IF attendance is high, and you have a horde of 50-100 extra people coming in the evening, they WILL be hungrier than the Day Guests and will want (and eat a lot of) food.
