Ultimate Wedding Package
Terms & Conditions

1. Minimum number for exclusive use of all the castle's ground floor function rooms, at 85% discount, is 100 day guests

2. Accommodation usage: There is no requirement for additional guests above first 12 to stay in the Hotel under this package. B&B Accommodation for up to 12 guests including the Wedding Couple in 6 double en-suites (up to a value of £900) is charged for within this Wedding Package.

3. Additional guests may stay overnight for £150 B&B per room (additional guests pay for their own rooms) based on two sharing a double en-suite. Guests can book rooms here - see Accommodation booking.

4. 'Exclusive use' means that we will not hold another wedding on your wedding day. You have exclusive use of all function rooms on the ground floor.

5. Exclusive use does not include the remaining En-Suites or the Nurses Block, which will probably have other B&B guests staying in them on a B&B only basis. The only way you can ensure exclusive use of the accommodation is if your guests fill all the bedrooms.

6. Under Exclusive use of all function rooms, we will not be serving evening meals to non-wedding guests, who will be informed that the main function rooms are for your sole use. We instead refer all non-wedding guests to local hostelries / the Penycae Inn for evening meals.

7. The DJ Special Wedding Evening Entertainment Package is included within this package up to a value of £600 provided the date is available with the chosen DJ. As DJ charges are subject to change, the actual price you pay the DJ may vary according to whether your wedding is on a weekday or weekend, with higher rates on premium dates such as Bank Holidays/ New Years Eve. Rates will tend to increase in future years, and may vary between DJ's, so there is a ceiling of £600 towards the DJ's costs within this package. You pay and contract with the DJ direct.  

Note you must book your DJ by entering into a separate contract direct with the DJ, at the same time you book this wedding package with the castle.

Further Explanatory Notes on DJ payment: Example based on 2023 rates: You pay a total of £14,650 made up of £14,050 to us and £600 to your DJ. Your DJ will be shown on the invoice as a separate item. So the Ultimate Wedding Package on your account on our records will show as £14,050, and the DJ £600 – the total is £14,650. When you pay the DJ and he confirms payment has been received, we will contra credit the £600 to your account so the balance then due to us is then £14,050. This means the total package price will be as indicated. So the DJ is not “free" as you need to pay him and book him. We've just allowed for the cost up to £600 within the advertised total price of the Ultimate Package inclusive of DJ up to £600 in value.  We do not pay the DJ. You do. He confirms receipt, and we contra it on your account so it is marked as paid. We mark it as paid when we know (from the DJ) that it has been paid. B&B & Planning

1. B&B en-suites  @£75/ guest based on two sharing an en-suite. Minimum of 2 guests @ £75 each per double en-suite room. Above 50 overnight guests, once all doubles are filled at £150 / room, B&B is £50/ guest, for extras in family rooms. Or £35/ guest (£70/ room) in budget Nurses Block.

Staying Night Before

1. The night before your wedding, if available, may be booked by your guests at a 30% discount (if staying in the same room two consecutive nights) subject to availability and the '6 month rule'.

2. The 6 month rule is applied to Saturday weddings in respect of Fridays. This means we wait till 6 months before your wedding, if your wedding is on a Saturday, before releasing bedrooms for your guests to book the night before.

3. For a Friday wedding we allow guests to book up to 10 rooms the night before, but keep a few rooms (15) clear for any possible midweek wedding booking, until 6 months prior to your wedding.

4. All rooms can be booked by your guests to stay the night before, if available, 6 months or less, before your wedding.


Dining night before a wedding

We need a minimum of 16 people pre-booked to open the dining room for dinners to be served the night before a wedding. Provided there is no exclusive use wedding or other exclusive event on the night before your wedding, we can serve evening meals to your guests. If you would like to have guests dine with us at the castle before your wedding, please let us know in advance.

We do not allow any food to be consumed on the castle ground floor / public dining areas, unless purchased at the Castle. Food not bought at the castle may only be consumed in the privacy of your own accommodation or in any self-catering accommodation – such as TGRA, TFFF, or Nurses Block - but only in the latter if it is booked out by a Wedding Party in its entirety, as in 'all rooms in the Nurses Building are rented out by your party'.
